Entries: Entries postmarked after May 15  MAY NOT be guaranteed meals.  A full refund less the $25.00 deposit will be provided up until the horse is
presented for the pre-ride vet- in (please call if you cannot come to the ride).  After 5/22/08, We’ll be at camp, please call 301-471-2561 or (301) 639-
4996 if you can’t make it.  Include a copy of current (within 12 months) Coggins with entry form. Please only bring horses that are entered in the ride,
space is limited.

You must show proof of current AERC membership or pay the $15.00 day registration fee.  You must show proof of ECTRA or SERA and put all
membership identification numbers on  your entry form.  Ride management will not track down your membership numbers.

Ride is sanctioned by the AERC  and ECTRA  all rules apply.

Awards: Awards ceremony will begin after dinner on Sat. night and around 7:00 on Sun.  Each contestant that passes the final veterinary
examination after crossing the finish line will be awarded a completion award. In addition, the ride will give the following:

100 Mile Ride: Top Ten , Best Condition,  and Turtle

30 Mile Ride and Ride & Tie : Completion Awards

50/55 mile rides:  
Top Ten , Best Condition,  and Turtle


Food: Ride entry fees include dinner the nite before your ride.  Extra dinner tickets may be purchased for $5.00 on Fri. nite and $10.00 on Sat.nite  
Coffee and donuts will be available the morning of the ride.

Ridecamp: Located at Penn State Mont Alto campus, Mont Alto, PA. in an open primitive field.  There will be  water available for human consumption.  
Also, we request that you do not run generators after 10:00 pm.  No open campfires. The following are available approximately 8-12 miles from
camp: grocery, drugstore, feedstore, restaurants, fast food, diesel fuel, motels, ATM.

Arrival:  Camp opens at noon Thursday, May 22,  If you must arrive earlier you must obtain permission from the Ride Manager.

DOGS MUST REMAIN ON LEASH AND/OR CONFINED IN YOUR CAMP SITE AREA!  No Dogs in vetting, dining, or ride brief area.

Vet-in: Vet-in will be from 3-6 p.m. on Fri, May 26 and as time permits Sat. afternoon for Sunday ride.  If you are going to be late please call ahead.   
There will be no morning ride vet-ins.

Ride Briefing:  A meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday for all riders to review up- to-date trail conditions, markings, and the locations and logistics
of the check points and holds. Questions from participants will be answered at this time.  The ride briefing for Sun will be held after the awards
ceremony on Sat. night around 7:00.

Riding the trail: HELMETS ARE REQUIRED! Once the event has begun, the rider is free to choose his/her own pace as long as P&R criteria into the
Vet Hold Stations are reached before the cut-off times, which will be provided at the ride briefing. The veterinary committee will ensure that the horse
is recovering to the safe parameters of temperature, pulse and respiration, and that there are no signs of excessive fatigue or lameness which
would endanger the horse. All vets checks on Sat are at base camp.   On Sun the 100 will have (2) away vet checks and the 55 (1) away vet check.  
The terrain is hilly, predominantly wooded, with good drainage. There are some rocky areas and a few challenging hills.  There will be some road
riding on hard packed dirt forest roads.  Plan to ride accordingly. Shoes are strongly encouraged and pads are optional.  Breast collars/cruppers
recommended.
